Prof. Guanghou Wang
Biography
Guanghou Wang is a professor of physics at Nanjing University and an academician of Chinese Academy of Science. He is also an Emeritus member of ISSPIC (International Symposium on Small Particles and Inorganic Clusters), member of International Advisory Board (Switzerland), and an editor of “Advances in Physics X”(UK).
Wang graduated from Beijing Normal University at 1963. He went to New York State University at Albany as a visiting scholar during 1980.6-1982.8, and a guest professor at University of Saarlands at Germany from 1990.10 to 1991.10. He was the first to do research cluster science both experimentally and theoretically since 1984 at China and have obtained a series of new results, and published more than 300 academic papers. He has written two volumes of the books “Physics of Particle-Solid Interactions” (Vol. I, 1988; Vol. II, 1991) published by Science Press (Beijing, China), and “Cluster Physics” published by Shanghai Press of Science and Technology (2003). He and his colleague self-designed and manufactured several kinds of cluster machines. He has awarded 9 Prizes including the second class of National Natural Science Prize, Hu Gangfu Physics Prize and the first class of Science and Technology of Ministry of Education in China, etc. and obtained more than 10 patents. He has chaired the international meetings 4 times including ISSPIC-12(2004).
