Prof. Zhigang Zou
Prof. Zhigang Zou have long-term devoted himself in the research field of new energy and photocatalytic materials, where he has made systematic and original contributions to the theory development, material preparation, and applications of energy and environmental materials, specifically the new-generation photocatalytic materials. As an academic leader with global impact, He is now the “Yangtze River Scholars” Distinguished Professor at Nanjing University, the academician of the Chinese Academy of Science, and the academician of the Third World Academy of Science. He published 560 SCI-indexed articles, SCI-cited for 20148 times without self-citation, with an H-index of 72. Elsevier has continuously elected him as the most cited Chinese researchers for 4 years. He found 2 new energy materials, and published their standard powder diffraction spectra. He achieved 77 Chinese Patents of invention, 1 US Patent, and 2 Japanese Patents. He also achieved 8 awards at the national, provincial, or ministerial levels. He has led the National Program on Key Basic Research Project (973 Program) as the chief scientist 2 times in the period of the 11th and 12th five-year Plan for Economic and Social Development of the People’s Republic of China. He also serves as the member of the advisory board of NPG Asia Materials, the academic leader of the National Key Laboratory for nuclear chemical and chemical disaster protection, the leader of relative project of nuclear chemical and chemical disaster protection, and one member of the strategic Steering Committee of the hydrogen energy and fuel cell industry innovation strategy alliance of China.
Prof. Zhigang Zou has also achieved a series of innovative and industrial developments in the fields of visible-light responsive photocatalytic materials, solar energy derived hydrogen production, and high-efficiency hydrogen applications. 7 innovative patents of his were successfully industrially transferred to Kunshan Sunlaite New Energy Co. Ltd. Relative products won the gold metal at the 7th International Invention Exhibition in 2012, the gold metal and the King Abdulaziz University Distinguished Innovation Award at the 46th International Exhibition of Inventions of Geneva in 2018.
