Regardless of how you travel, once in the city you’ll find it easy to get around on foot or by using the Metro system of buses and underground rail.
If you’re coming from out of town, the best way to get to GWU from Reagan National is by Washington Metrorail or cab. Reagan National Airport is closest and most convenient to the University. From the airport, you can hop on a Metrorail train or take a taxi directly to the Foggy Bottom Campus. To get to GWU, follow the signs at Reagan National for the Metro and take the Blue Line towards Largo Town Center. The Foggy Bottom GWU Metro stop, is on our Foggy Bottom Campus at 21st and I Streets, NW.
From the Airport
The George Washington University is easily accessible by taxi or subway (Metro) from Reagan National Airport and Amtrak (Union Station). From Dulles International Airport, you may take the Washington Flyer bus service to many downtown hotels. People arriving at Baltimore-Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport may take the Super Shuttle or Amtrak directly into Washington, D.C.
